Snagging your piercings is one of the most painful experiences, and is not good for your piercings. Luckily, we've got some tips to help you prevent snagging your piercings so often!
THE LOOFAH
If you like to use a loofah in the shower, be extremely cautious when washing around your piercing. The porous fabric of the loofah makes the absolute perfect spot for your jewelry to get stuck!
LACE
Lace and other fabrics with lots of holes pose the same issue as the loofah. When you are changing, take extra care to keep the clothing away from your piercings. If your piercings are healed you can even take the jewelry out to be able to wear holes fabrics with no worries!
ACTIVITIES
If you play sports, you need to be extra careful! But sports are not the only activity to be wary of. Piercings can be easily snagged at crowded places such as concerts or waterparks as well!
DANGLING JEWELRY
You may not think about it when you change into that cute dangling belly ring, but dangling jewelry (even in your ears) makes it much easier for the jewelry to be snagged! If you're wearing a dangling piece, do your best to remember that it is there and not let anything come near it.
HAIR
Your hair can be the most snagging thing ever. When your piercings are fresh you should keep your hair pulled back as much as possible to avid the hair getting tangles around new piercings as this could cause complications with your healing!
NEW PIERCINGS
If you're not used to having a piercing in a certain spot, you are way more likely to snag it on things! Be sure to remember that it is there so that you can minimize this from happening.
PRONGS
Prong set jewelry seems to snag more than the rest- understandably because the little prongs make it easy for fabric and hair to get stuck inside. For more snag less jewelry go with something that doesn't have any edges that could catch fabric or hair!
No matter what you do, you will probably snag a few of your piercings, but with these tips you and your piercing will be much better off!
Until next week,
