Creating a cohesive Ear Flow that ends up visually pleasing is more easier than you might expect, so no worries- after reading this blog you'll be a pro! ✨
First thing is first- you need to find a theme or a single piece of jewelry that you want to base your entire look off of.
Once you have that, assess and see what qualities it has. Does your theme/jewelry have a texture or is it smooth? What is the main color? Are there any secondary colors? Decide if you want to mix metal colors or use one tone of metal. Does this piece have dangling aspects? Would dangling aspects fit into this theme? Do you want a more bold or a lighter look?
Once these questions are answered it's time to plan! Think about jewelry sizes- whoever looks at your piercings will be drawn to look at the larger/more flashy jewelry first, then it will move around the ear from there. Ideally, a flowing ear will draw the viewer's eye around in a smooth motion.
Piercings are art, after all, so we can use certain art elements like balance, negative space, and lines to add flair and a cohesive feel to your look.
Balance your jewelry sizes & dangling/non-dangling aspects. An ear full of bulky jewelry and lots of piercings will likely look too crowded, and likewise, an ear with just a few piercings and teeny jewelry may have way too much blank space.
Once you have a good plan in place you can draw out your ideal ear on a print out of an ear. Draw lines where you want hoops and represent your desired jewelry sizes accurately to ensure you love the final look!
Once this planning stage is over, the real fun begins!
You're now ready to hunt for the perfect jewelry to fill out your Ear Flow ✨
I hope this blog has held some useful tips for you to create your dream ear piercing look!
