There are SO MANY ear piercings you can get that it's almost impossible to choose which one you want! In today's blog, we're showing you the nine most popular non-lobe ear piercings to get and some additional information about each one so you can make an informed decision about what piercing you want to get next!
Lets get started! The piercings we will cover in this blog are the helix/cartilage, tragus, industrial, forward helix, conch, daith, rook, snug, and the anti-tragus piercing. Each one is beautiful and unique in it's own way!
The tragus is a super cute piercing that is easy to heal for most people! Commonly used for this piercing is a labret or barbell style jewelry, but you can also put in a hoop or a horseshoe! To see our tragus jewelry collection, click

Helix piercings are a classic piercing choice! Many people call them "cartilage" piercings, but the technical term is helix, because many other piercings including the conch are also pierced through the cartilage of the ear, and therefore *could* also be called a cartilage piercing. The helix piercing is not limited to the pictured placement- it can be placed anywhere from right above the lobe to the very top of the ear! You can use tons of different jewelry types in this piercing, leaving you with plenty of options to play around with and discover your favorite! This piercing looks especially great with
hoops,
chain accents or other
dangling jewelry styles. To see our full helix piercing jewelry collection click

The conch piercing has been rising in popularity lately, and with good reason! It's placement makes it easy to heal for most people and once it's healed you can adorn it with a truly drool-worthy hoop filled with
crystals,
opals, or your
design of choice! (I want to note here that a conch piercing with a hoop is often mistakenly called an orbital conch, but in order for a piercing to be classified as an orbital piercing one hoop must pass through two different holes.) A simple
labret is also a brilliant jewelry option for your conch piercing. Pictured is our
Rock On Labret!
If you decide to get this piercing, you should be extra careful not to sleep on it! Invest in a donut pillow or U shaped neck pillow and sleep with your ear in the hollow center where no weight will be on your piercing if you sleep on your side.
The rook piercing is a newer popular ear piercing, and it's easy to see why lots of women are getting this piercing! It is so unique, and super cute with designed curved barbells or snug little hoops inserted! 😍 Click
here to see our full rook piercing jewelry collection. This piercing usually takes a little more care while healing, as its placement makes it easy to snag on your clothing, towels, or bedding. It will be totally worth it once it's healed though!
The daith piercing is often heard of when discussing migraine releif! Though there is no scientific evidence backing this claim, thousands of people swear that getting the piercing gave them relief from their migraines. Even if it doesn't work for you, in the end you still have a piercing that's cute af! 💫 The daith piercing can be adorned with
hoops or clickers- its mostly personal preference and what your piercing feels best with!
The daith is very easy to heal as it's so far inside of your ear that nothing really messes with it. It is important to note that you may or may not be able to use your in-ear headphones with this piercing. When I had mine I could flip it up and out of the way in order to use headphones, but whether you can or not will depend on your headphones, your unique anatomy, and your exact piercing placement!
Ah, the industrial piercing! Also known as a scaffold piercing in some countries, this gorgeous beast of a piercing can be just that- beautiful, but sometimes a PAIN to get healed! However, if you have the right anatomy and a lot of patience, this could be the ideal piercing for you. There are also vertical, double, or floating versions of this piercing, if one of those are your jam! The industrial piercing has special Industrial Bars that are made to fit just the industrial, and you can see our cute collection
here.
The forward helix piercing is an OG of a piercing for sure! This is one of the cutest piercings that you could ever get- but ladies with long hair beware! The
labrets used to adorn this piercing love to wrap up in your pretty locks, making them a little difficult to heal. Like any piercing, the more you care for it, the more you will be rewarded in the end with a happy, healthy, beautiful piercing that's worth any trouble you may go through during the healing process! ✨
This piercing looks especially unique and adorable when it is healed and
hoops are put in 🤩
The anti-tragus is a glorious choice for those who love an edgy look! It's placement makes it a little bit difficult to heal, but once again it will be completely worth it in the end.
Curved barbells or
small hoops are the best jewelry types for this placement!
Last but certainly not least is the snug piercing! I would not suggest this piercing as a first non-lobe piercing, as its location makes this piercing prone to rejecting without 100% proper care. Don't let that discourage you though- many people have beautifully healed snug piercings. A
curved barbell is the best jewelry choice for this cool piercing!

Until next time,
