The conch piercing is one of the most beautiful piercings that exists! I think everyone should have one! (or a few) 🤷🏻♀️
There is no shortage of options for these piercings. If you want to get one, you should think about how you will want to style it once it is healed! Here is a little inspiration by some of my favorite piercers:

Okay! Now that you have some inspiration and an idea of what you want your final look to be, lets get into the good stuff!
First and foremost, you need to find a reputable piercer in your area if you do not already have one! This is a very important step to ensure you end up with a happy, healthy piercing.
Conch piercings should be done with a labret that has internal threading and is made of 316L surgical steel, ASTM F-136 titanium, or niobium. Your aftercare for a conch piercing is much like any other cartilage piercing! A great saline spray 1-2+ times per day will do the trick. I have recently been hearing lots of piercers tell their clients about the LITHA aftercare method: LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE! I love this so much because it sticks and is true! The less you touch your piercing the better. It's best to use your saline spray, then forget about the piercing until it's healed except for being conscious not to bump it or sleep on it. A conch piercing will take anywhere from six months to one year to fully heal, depending on your body, your aftercare, your jewelry, and if you bump/sleep on your piercing or not. To learn more about the stages of a healing piercing, see this blog!
Once you're fully healed, you are free to create! Add chains, hoops, stack smaller gauge hoops, add another conch piercing- the possibilities are endless with this lovely piercing!
There is one misconception that I would like to clear up before ending this blog. Conch piercings with hoops are NOT orbital piercings. An orbital piercing goes through two different piercing holes, not just one 😊
